It’s Hard Not To Take The Weather Personally

UK weather over Easter

Like 2/3rds of the UK, we are into the second week of our Easter school holidays.

Last week it was cold.  We had frost on the ground and snow falling from the sky. But the dogs always need walking so we bundled up and off we went. It does everyone good to get out every day, no matter what the weather is like, but everything is so much easier when it’s not raining or cold.

Then Saturday came and the sun arrived. We still needed coats but the kids loved being able to get out in the garden and we all enjoyed  the sunlight on our faces. Sunday was more of the same, and even yesterday was pleasant enough to eat outside. Perhaps Spring had finally arrived?

*Sigh*  Apparently not.

Today we woke up to rain and a forecast that promises more of the wet stuff over the next week. And of course we have plans. Plans that involve long walks or outdoor activities with friends that we only get to see during the holidays.

I feel the same way about this week’s predicted rain as I do about the showers that always seem to time themselves perfectly to clash with the school run.

It’s really hard to not take the weather personally sometimes, isn’t it?
