No Llamas Were Harmed In The Baking Of These Bites

The day three packets of Llama’s bites arrived in the post had not been a good one for me. I was waiting in for a delivery whose arrival time was doomed to coincide with the afternoon school run, and so I hadn’t been able to get out to the shops to get an after-school snack for the kids.

Of course an after-school snack isn’t one of life’s essentials, it’s more a luxury, but it shuts the offspring up for 10 minutes when they get in the door after the school run. And of course they get used to having a snack, so whinge when they have to make do with fruit or cheese. Yeah, yeah, I know- the words ‘rod’ and ‘back’ spring to mind don’t they?

Anyhow, there I was waiting in and the cupboard was bare. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Hurrah! I thought, my delivery is here.

Of course it wasn’t.

But it was the postman, delivering these lovely Llama’s bites which cheered me right up.  I was peckish, so opened the BBQ ones immediately. They contained just the right amount of flavour for me, without tasting too smoky. DS liked them too and between the two of us, we didn’t leave many for the school girls.

This meant we had to open the ‘chesy’ ones for them. They shared them out accurately between the three of them, and there were two left over, so I can report that the cheese flavoured bites are just as tasty as the BBQ ones.

I handed the Sweet Chilli flavoured bag  of Llama’s bites to DH, as I lack the taste buds to cope with anything remotely spicy. He enjoyed having the bag to himself as it’s not something that happens often in this house.

Llama’s are baked, so are crunchy but are made from whole wheat and are therefore healthier than crisps. They are really tasty and the fun llama shapes amused my children for much longer than you’d think. These bites were successful as a snack in this house and we’ll almost definitely add them to the shopping list in the future.

Llama’s are available in 150g bags from Tesco stores nationwide and from tesco.com. They cost £1.69 per bag, and each bag will feed 1-3 people depending on age, size and degree of hunger.

We were sent three bags of Llama’s bites to try at home, but all opinions expressed above are my family’s own.
