Most mothers will agree, the kids come first.
As soon as when you become pregnant, you are presented with a list of things you mustn’t eat, drink or do in order to protect your unborn child. To be honest, following these guidelines is not so bad; any excuse to give up smoking has to be a good one, you often don’t feel like drinking alcohol when pregnant and who wouldn’t want an excuse not to have to clean out the cat’s litter tray.
Then comes childbirth. Yes, some woman do claim to enjoy labour but for most of us, it’s merely something that must be endured if we want a baby. The majority of mothers find it painful, messy and humiliating, even if you go for the so-called ‘easy’ option of a C-section. There are parts of giving birth that you just pretend never happened and it’s best to just accept your body will never be the same again. But most mothers agree it’s worth it and quite a few go on to do it again.
