The Gallery: Frightful
My kids love Halloween; it’s pretty much as big an event as Christmas for them. Luckily, we live in a neighbourhood that buys into the concept too.
Come the evening of the 31st of October, there are pumpkins and balloons everywhere. No one bothers houses that aren’t decorated. The kids fill their loot bags after a stroll around the block, then settle down to eat their body weight in confectionery before bedtime. Every one is happy.
Including me. I’m happy because I get to indulge my artistic side at Halloween. Give me a pumpkin and a template and I’m a happy woman. I spend hours hollowing and hacking at vegetables in order to produce something that only lasts a couple of nights.
It’s not actually that hard, anyone can do it. I use the site Zombie Pumpkins, and do pay for some templates but there are plenty of free ones around.
It does take a frightfully long time, but the results are frightfully good.
They look even better lit up; I use battery powered colour changing tea lights in mine.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Great idea to use battery operated lights. Lovely pumpkins x
Those are fantastic. Every year I say I will get battery powered light and every year it’s a mad dash to but a tea light or candle
This one was made for you, wasn’t it! Awesome pumpkins as always.
Oh my goodness, they are amazing. Naive old me didn’t realise you could get TEMPLATES for pumpkins. Your neighbourhood sounds like mine – where people are positive about Halloween and nothing bad happens. I blogged about that today and got a lot of anti-Halloween comments back
Absolutely love ET
